''I became publicly involved in lobbying for assisted dying in 2009 after seeing a photo of Chantal Sebire pleading for assistance to die. Chantal suffered from a rare form of nasal cancer, leaving her blind and her jaw disintegrating. I knew there had to be better ways of dying. I was also aware that opposition by some Christian hierarchy is a major reason why we do not have compassionate choice now. I therefore co-founded Christians Supporting Choice for Voluntary Euthanasia, together with Rev Trevor Bensch, to give a voice for the silent majority of Christians who do support this issue''.
