Grief is a complex process. Each person manages grief in their own way. It can be difficult for relatives and friends after the death of a friend or relative who used VAD. It may be difficult to share with other friends and relatives that the person used VAD.
Griefline is an online grief support agency which aims to support the emotional wellbeing pf a person facing loss and grief. Griefline provides grief and bereavement counselling, support and education to the Griefline community.

- Provides free grief and loss support services.
- Develops educational resources to build grief literacy in the community.
- Advocates for the needs of those grieving to ensure their voices are heard.
In 2024-25, Griefline ran a series of online support groups for people before and after VAD.
Griefline runs a helpline on 1300 845 745 between the hours of 9am and 8pm, 7 days a week (AEST/AEDT)
Griefline is funded by state and federal governments, donations and training course fees.
