Joint Committee on End of Life Choices

0.jpgAfter 15 Bills and several Parliamentary Inquiries aiming to achieve Voluntary Assisted Dying in South Australia, Hon Kyam Maher, MLC, gained support to establish a Joint Committee on End of Life Choices. The JCEOLC was established in April 2019 with six members, three from the Legislative Council and three from the House of Assembly. The JCEOLC heard from supporters and opponents, received written submissions and held public hearings. The JCEOLC travelled to Victoria to meet with the VAD Review Board, Ministers and other parties to familiarise themselves with the operation of the VAD Act (2017) in Victoria. The committee membership, terms of reference and submissions can be viewed on the Parliament House website here.
